Project Insights: Sea, hills, and skies by Essential Magazine

Marbella Club Hills – sea, hills and skies

What do you do with almost 16 hectares of prime land between green hills and valleys overlooking golf and sea? You create a beautiful property development within a classic country club.

“The classic country club in question is the Marbella Club Golf Resort, whose pedigree is linked to that of the legendary Marbella Club Hotel. Indeed, using the ‘Marbella Club’ in the name indicates a bond that effectively makes one the country club of the other – golf course and equestrian centre included. The Marbella Club Golf Resort is a hill club in the true sense of the word, a select community of villas set amid nature upon large private grounds overlooking a sprawling golf course and the Mediterranean Sea.

Marbella Club Hills finds itself within this elegant environment, with the distinction of offering a modern gated community within the country club that includes luxurious villas as well as apartments. They find themselves minutes from the charming clubhouse of the local golf club, within easy reach of the Marbella Club Equestrian Centre and in the embrace of nature while close to Benahavis, San Pedro Alcántara, Estepona and both Puerto Banús and Marbella town. Just to the west is the iconic Anantara Villa Padierna Resort, renowned for its palatial style, its award-winning spa, gastronomic offering and of course a collection of fine golf courses.

Focus on style and green design

Using just 10% of the 158,000m2 of land that makes up Marbella Club Hills ensures space, privacy, uninterrupted views, low-rise refinement and also forms part of a commitment to develop in harmony with the surrounding nature. The equally strong commitment to design of a timeless quality is visible in the styling of the 110 apartments and ten villas, designed by Villarroel Torrico with the brief to create something truly outstanding – contemporary homes of great style and sophistication that honour both the nature and cultural traditions of Andalucía.

This is a mouthwatering prospect for an architect of the calibre of Pablo Villarroel, who balanced Mediterranean rooflines with sleek modern architectural geometry and an open-plan interior distribution that offers a succession of intimate living spaces. Combined with thoughtfully landscaped gardens planted with drought-resistant endemic plants and terrace areas that make the most of natural views, airflow and light, it makes for refined country living designed to be in harmony with nature in its styling, positioning and application of modern energy-efficient systems.

Four phases

Given the space available, Marbella Club Hills is divided into four phases with their own charm and individuality. This layout optimises space, privacy and creates landscaped spaces in between the properties, which consist of three and four-bedroom garden duplexes, two and three-bedroom apartments with large panoramic terraces and spectacular rooftop penthouses with three or four bedrooms. The garden duplexes have private gardens of up to 140m2 and 240m2 of internal space, making them feel like compact modern villas, much as the sky villa penthouses do.

Construction of phase II is scheduled to start in the final quarter of this year, with delivery in mid-2025. The cherry on the cake of Marbella Club Hills is made up of the ten luxurious modern villas that will form phase III of the project, each with five bedrooms with ensuite bathrooms, private swimming pools, styled gardens and expansive living space on three floors. Villarroel Torrico has adapted the signature style of Marbella Club Hills to the villas, ensuring that they are state-of-the-art in terms of amenities and automation.

Clubhouses

In keeping with the spirit of the Marbella Club Golf Resort, this development features two clubhouses situated different sections of the community. The North Club, which is located on the upper hill, contains a heated outdoor swimming pool, professional gymnasium, spa and hammam, as well as a lounge and an outdoor functions area.

The South Club, which will be built in the coming year, will feature an indoor swimming pool, a gym, two tennis and two paddle tennis courts as well as a children’s playground. This in addition to the renowned equestrian centre and a golf course available within the Marbella Club Golf Resort.

“It’s an environment designed for comfort and refinement,” says developer (MENA Capital’s) Chairman and CEO, Nabil Sawabini, “where the quality country lifestyle can be cherished and enjoyed.”
